Prepare a permitted Teams coaching setup

Check Teams meeting policy, audio source and participant permission before trying a separate coaching workspace.

Teams meeting settings can depend on the organization, meeting and license. MagicInterview is a separate companion workspace, not a Teams integration. Microsoft’s Copilot guidance describes Teams’ own AI path, which is separate from outside coaching.

Confirm meeting and device settings#

Check whether the organizer permits assistance and participant-audio processing. In Teams, select the intended speaker and microphone under device settings. Use Make a test call where the account offers it; otherwise use an agreed test meeting. Microsoft’s device-settings instructions, checked on 12 October 2026, cover the device selections and test call. A tenant setting alone does not establish permission for this use.

Keep browser and desktop sources distinct#

MagicInterview’s web shared-audio control is offered on supported desktop Chromium browsers. Other browser and phone routes should not be treated as equivalent. Server coaching requires Pro under the plan terms.

Check the other side separately#

Have an agreed test participant speak a distinct phrase and inspect what arrives in the coach. Your own microphone phrase and the participant’s phrase are separate checks. If the second is absent, inspect meeting output, shared source and audio option. Stop capture when the test ends. Use Windows or Mac for permissions and meeting brief preparation before the real call.
